[IMPACT Webinar] Winning the Energy Advantage: New DC-Energy Partnerships for Europe's AI Infrastructure

Date and Time: 10:00-12:10 Frankfurt Time | September 3 2026

Abstract:

Europe's AI ambitions are colliding with a hard constraint: energy. Grid connection queues now stretch 7 to 13 years across the region's core FLAP-D hubs, and many countries have effectively frozen new large-scale data centre approvals. The old playbook, secure land, then chase electricity, no longer works for AI-scale demand. Energy access, not land or fibre, has become the first gate any data centre project must clear.

This webinar traces the industry's response along the full value chain: the shift to Power-First development logic, data centre operators moving from passive energy buyers to active investors in on-site energy assets, the grid-side tools energy companies are deploying to compress connection timelines, and the diversified renewable portfolios needed to keep AI operations running at scale. The closing panel challenges the sector to move beyond transactional buyer-supplier ties and build the long-term DC-energy partnership models Europe's AI infrastructure will require.

The message is clear: in Europe's AI race, energy is no longer a supporting function—it is the strategy. Data centre operators will leave with a sharper playbook for securing capacity; energy companies, with a clearer view of where the next generation of demand is heading; and both, with the partnership models needed to build Europe's AI infrastructure together.
